Chocolate Peppermint Cookies
1 package of sugar cookie mix (doesn't matter which brand)
1 bag (12 oz) of white chocolate chips
1 bag (12 oz) of chocolate chips
6 candy canes
Make sugar cookies according to package directions. Allow cookies to cool.
In a large gallon bag add candy canes and crush with a rolling pin until into small chunks. Set aside.
Once cookies are completely cooled, pour white chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute. Once chocolate is melted, mix well. Take one cookie and dip top of it into the chocolate. Put cookie on a piece of wax paper and sprinkle with crushed peppermint. Repeat for the rest of the cookies.
Melt the chocolate chips in a different microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute. Using a whisk drizzle chocolate on top of cookies. Repeat for the rest of the cookies.
Let cookies stand for 45 minutes to an hour to allow chocolate to set.
Variations of Recipe:
Instead of using peppermint, sprinkle other ingredients such as almonds or M&M. You can even sprinkle
pretzels, caramel and salt to make salted caramel pretzel cookies. The possibilities are endless!
